This FAQ section is designed to help believers understand key aspects of the Christian faith, from discipleship and stewardship to evangelism and church involvement. At Mercy-Seat Church, we are committed to nurturing a Christ-centered community where members grow spiritually, serve faithfully, and witness boldly. Whether you are a new believer or a long-time Christian, these answers will guide you in your journey of faith.

Discipleship/Stewardship

The call to discipleship is the ultimate demand Christ makes of believers. True discipleship will make Christ not only the Savior but also the Lord of life. Discipleship includes all we do as Christians; it applies Scriptural knowledge to relationships, stewardship of time and resources, career choices, values, and moral standards. In our Church context, discipleship is the process of growing in relationship with Christ by learning of Him, living under His authority, and applying His teaching to every area of life.

Fellowship

Mercy-Seat Church will plan activities in which members, students/youths may experience meaningful relationships with other members, students/youths, friends, and other Christians, thereby deepening the experience of the Christian community. In fellowship, members, students/youth come to know themselves through belonging to each other and God.

Evangelism/Missions

Evangelism/Missions is an outreach area that calls for Christians to share what they have experienced in Christ. Evangelism/Missions involve living a life that gives credibility to one’s testimony. It means sharing verbally in the Holy Spirit’s power one’s personal experience in Christ to help others know Christ as Savior. Sharing one’s experience in Christ is not limited by time or place. Under the Holy Spirit’s leadership, members and students witness on campus, in town, throughout the nation, and to the farthest parts of the world. Therefore, members, students/youths of Mercy-Seat Church should consider witnessing a vital outreach ministry.

Visitation

Visitation activities are those functions of Mercy-Seat Church directed towards meeting others’ needs. It may involve counseling members in behavioral or personal morality, crises, decision-making times, grief experiences, or assisting members in a moment of difficulties. In visitation, a healthy member or student/youth seeks to locate, enlist, and involve new members or students in its activities. The visitation program will be one the medium for enlisting members or students for responsible church membership and full participation.

Churchmanship

Mercy-Seat Church believes members, students/youth are members of a specialized Christ-centered community. However, they are also members of a diverse community beyond the local church and campus, the church universal. Most members, students/youth will live and work for the more significant part of their lives in the context of relationships and situations outside the campus. Thus, it is necessary to emphasize the ministry to the local church. As responsible, participating church members, students/youth become God’s instruments and share in the church’s responsibility to bear witness to the community, nation, and world of what God has done for man in Jesus Christ.
